Description
Not recommended. Don't let the butch off-roader styling fool you, the Ignis is just a below-average supermini with vague handling and a crashy ride.

Contrà´le technique
If butch looks and a raised seating position are your principal car-buying criteria then consider the Ignis. Otherwise, avoid it with a vengeance. It's cheap, reliable and well warrantied, but in every other regard it's massively off the pace. Nasty plasticky cabins don't offer any of the increased space that the styling might lead you to expect. The 1.3 litre engine gives reasonable performance, but sounds loud and coarse while doing so. And ride quality is very poor, especially in town. Tough styling aside, it is comprehensively outplayed in every regard by the entire pack of modern European superminis.
